CHC has a number of groups that are offered across all programs.
Expressive Therapy is a service that CHC Addiction Services offers throughout all programs. CHC’s Expressive Therapy Program utilizes art to treat addiction and mental health. All groups are facilitated by a Registered Art Therapist and give patients the opportunity to achieve self-expression, empowerment and symptom reduction. Expressive Therapy fosters personal growth by allowing individuals to creatively express and explore feelings in a safe environment.
Nurturing Parenting classes are another way that CHC helps patients create a healthy lifestyle for themselves and their families. This class is available to anyone currently in treatment and focuses on positive discipline, developing family values and communicating with respect. Those who complete the 12-week program will receive a certificate of completion, which is accepted by Summit County Children Services. This is an evidence-based program.
Psychiatry is available with any program at CHC Addiction Services. Substance use disorders are commonly seen with mental illnesses. Research shows that treating these co-occurring disorders together can have more of an impact than when they are treated individually. CHC employs both Adult and Adolescent Psychiatrists, all specially trained in co-occurring disorders.
